At ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® of Santa Ana (ALSA),
we truly believe that “Good
Works Go Far Beyond Our Deeds.” Since 1937, we have
been reaching out through the good works of our philanthropic programs.
About 29% of the families with school age children in our community
have income levels below the national poverty level and many of
them live within close proximity of our facilities. Through the
volunteer efforts of our members and the generous support of individuals
and companies, we piece together the good
deeds of many to form programs that directly benefit Santa
Ana children in need of assistance.
A nonprofit corporation, ALSA is a chapter of NATIONAL ASSISTANCE
LEAGUE®, whose purpose is to act as a friend at all times to
men, women and children in need of care, guidance and assistance
— spiritually, materially and physically. ALSA includes four
auxiliaries: Katharine Irvine, Los Alisos, Modjeska, as well as
the ASSISTEENS® high school volunteers.
