School uniforms, including shoes and underclothing, are furnished through OPERATION SCHOOL BELL®, the nationwide acclaimed philanthropy of National Assistance League. As part of its significant financial support to many of ALSA’s philanthropic programs, the Modjeska Auxiliary provides backpacks filled with school supplies. Good grooming kits are supplied by Assisteens.

More than 2,000 students are supplied with outfits and backpacks each year, building pride, self-esteem, and reducing the problem of school absences due to inadequate clothing. For many children, this is the first time they’ve had new clothing to call their own.
